THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME
The morning is devoted to postural exercises specific to this dance, which challenge our psychomotor skills.
Practising appropriate exercises on the floor, alone or in pairs, will provide a physical warm-up, where you will work on relaxation, alignment, support, dissociation and balance.
The second part of the morning will consist of ‘feeling and perceiving’ through ‘TANGO sequences’. This involves actively listening to your dance partner. This learning process involves memorising various structures.
The technical work will allow us to address the different and complementary roles and expand the space for improvisation. Men will rediscover the structure and in-depth guidance of tango. Women will develop their awareness of posture, which will give substance to the dance.
Starting from the abrazo, the structure, the energy of dissociation and its multiple possibilities, we will address our usual patterns in order to improve and enrich our dance by working on traditional Argentine tango figures and sequences.
Breath awareness will strengthen our ability to be centred and present, helping us to build harmony within the couple and increase the nuances in our dancing and interpretation of the music.
The two afternoon classes will be devoted to improvisation work, the aim of which is to highlight the music offered by the various orchestras through the sequences learned.

THE MAESTROS
Ximena Zalazar Firpo & Grégory Bonnault
They met during an Argentine tango workshop with Federico Rodrigez Moreno and Catherine Berbessou in Paris. They share the same passion for dance and creativity, combining Argentine tango and contemporary dance.
(Shows: ‘A la Une’ and ‘J'ai quelque chose à te dire’.
Cie ESTRO TANGO)
Their rapport encourages them to join forces in this workshop to share their passion and their teaching.
The aim is to find a dance style that is both comfortable and dynamic in the abrazo. To achieve this, we will work on the axis, torsion and weight through learning the fundamental structures of tango: walking, salidas and turns in relation to the music (rhythms and musicality).

THE PLACE
Castello di Querceto, a medieval "borgo" surrounded by 1,300 hectares of woods that preserves the authentic style of the bastides of the past. It's a world of forgotten sounds and smells, breathtaking views and sunsets. A historical place in the amazing nature of Tuscany. In the heart of Val di Cecina between Volterra and the Etruscan coast lies the dreamy village of Querceto, surrounded by fields and forests. The medieval castle of the Ginori Lisci family covers almost all of Querceto. Querceto has been fully restored and has a vibrant social and cultural life.
